The Records of John H. Brooks, Associate Director of the Clark from 1968 - 2001, is generally comprised of business correspondence and collection inventories. A 2008 accrual added records of Brooks’ dealings with other departments within the Clark.

Scope and Contents Note The collection comprises the records of the Campus Expansion Project and associated Clark offices. The records document building expansion projects at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute from 1956 to 2017 (bulk dates), with a significant focus on the Tadao Ando designed expansion begun in 2001, in addition to building renovations, code compliance updates, and documentation pertaining to the original construction of all campus buildings. This collection comprises records kept by the Vermont Marble Company relating to the original construction of the Clark Art Institute's Museum Building, designed by architect Daniel Perry. These records document development and shipment of the marble for the building from 1952 to 1954. Documentation includes shipment schedules, order forms, articles, and correspondence.
