Newspaper Clippings Scrapbooks, 1955-1995
Scope and Contents of the Records
The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute Scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings about events, exhibitions, and changes at the Clark between 1955 and 1993. The collection also includes one box of loose newspaper clippings, spanning 1951-1994, containing the earliest Clark exhibits and the opening of the museum. The scrapbooks appear to have been compiled by Sherrill Ingalls in the administrative office.
The 1988 scrapbook contains loose newspaper clippings which were never organized or fastened to the paper backing. The 1993 and 1995 scrapbooks are unbound.
