Scope and Contents of the Records
The Director's Office Records of Exhibitions is comprised of files of proposed exhibitions, scheduling, and budgets for each year between 1980-1989. There are also files for each exhibition held at the Clark during this time span.
The individual exhibition files primarily contain correspondence from the Director to staff at other museums requesting loans of items needed for the exhibit. Other items commonly found in these files include draft descriptions and summaries of exhibitions, press releases and lists of art works displayed in the exhibitions.

Arrangement of the Records
The original order of the material was preserved. The arrangement is roughly chronological with each exhibition receiving its own folder.
Custodial History
The material in the collection was transferred from the Director's Office to the Archives in 2007.
Processing Information
Lacy Schutz, archivist, and Dani Ryan, archives assistant, processed these records in April, 2007. Staples were removed and materials were re-housed in acid free folders and boxes.
